- In a mixing bowl, combine tuna, mayonnaise, mustard, onion, celery, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
- Lay out bread slices. Spread butter on one side of each slice.
- On the unbuttered side of four slices, layer tuna mixture and 2 slices of cheese. Top with remaining bread slices, buttered side out.
- Heat a skillet or griddle over medium heat. Place sandwiches in the skillet and cook 3–4 minutes per side, until bread is golden and cheese has melted.
- Slice in half and serve warm.
Notes
Add sliced tomato or pickles for extra flavor.
Use Greek yogurt instead of mayo for a lighter version.
Great with a side of fries, soup, or salad.
