- Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
- In a large bowl, mix the self-rising flour and shredded cheese, combining well to ensure the cheese is evenly distributed.
- Cut in the cold butter using a pastry cutter or your fingertips until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Gradually add the milk, stirring gently until combined. Avoid overmixing; you want the dough to be slightly sticky.
- On a floured surface, turn out the dough and gently knead it two or three times until it comes together.
- Roll out the dough to about 1 inch thick and cut into desired biscuit shapes using a biscuit cutter or a glass.
- Place the biscuits on a lined baking sheet and bake for about 15-20 minutes until golden brown and puffed up.
- Remove them from the oven and let them cool slightly before devouring them warm!
