  • 12 oz ziti pasta Cook according to package instructions
  • 2 cups fresh spinach, chopped Fresh spinach preferred for better texture
  • 15 oz ricotta cheese
  • 2 cups mozzarella cheese, shredded Plus extra for topping
  • 1 cup Parmesan cheese, grated
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
Seasonings
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • to taste Salt and pepper
  • Olive oil for sautéing Used to sauté spinach

Method
 

Cooking the Pasta
  1. Cook the ziti pasta according to the package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
Preparing the Spinach
  1. In a large skillet, heat a drizzle of olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped spinach and sauté until wilted, about 2-3 minutes. Remove from heat and set aside.
Mixing the Cheeses
  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the ricotta cheese, 1 cup of mozzarella cheese, half of the Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Mix until well-blended.
Combining Ingredients
  1. In a large bowl, combine the cooked ziti, sautéed spinach, and marinara sauce. Then, fold in the cheese mixture until evenly mixed.
Baking the Ziti
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Pour the mixture into a greased 9×13-inch baking dish, spreading it out evenly.
  2. Sprinkle the remaining mozzarella and Parmesan cheese on top for that delightful, bubbly crust.
  3. Place the dish in the oven and bake for 25-30 minutes or until the cheese is melted and lightly golden.
Serving
  1. Let cool for a few minutes before serving. Enjoy your scrumptious Spinach Ziti!

Notes

Pair with a side salad or garlic bread for a complete meal. For leftover storage, refrigerate for up to 4 days or freeze for 3 months. Reheat in the oven at 350°F (175°C) for about 20-25 minutes.
