Ingredients

For the dough
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 ¼ teaspoons instant yeast 1 packet
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ¼ cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 cup warm milk about 110°F or 43°C
  • as needed Additional melted butter for brushing

Method

Prepare the Dough
  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, yeast, sugar, and salt. In a separate bowl, mix the warm milk, melted butter, and egg until well combined. Gradually add the wet mixture to the dry ingredients, stirring until a dough forms.
Knead the Dough
  1. Transfer the dough onto a floured surface and knead for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic. If the dough is too sticky, sprinkle a little more flour as needed.
First Rise
  1. Form the dough into a ball and place it in a greased bowl, covering it with a cloth. Let it rise in a warm place for about 30 minutes, or until it doubles in size.
Shape the Rolls
  1. Once the dough has risen, punch it down and turn it out onto a floured surface. Divide the dough into 12 equal pieces and shape each piece into a ball. Place the rolls in a greased baking dish, ensuring they are close together.
Second Rise
  1. Cover the rolls with a cloth and let them rise for another 20 minutes until they puff up.
Bake the Rolls
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Bake the rolls for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown. Remove from the oven and brush with melted butter for that extra, mouthwatering finish!
Cool and Enjoy
  1. Allow the rolls to cool for a few minutes before serving, and watch them disappear in no time!
