Ingredients
  

For the Chicken
  • 2 pieces boneless chicken breasts Tender and seasoned for frying.
  • 1 cup buttermilk For marinating the chicken.
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour For dredging the chicken.
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder Adds flavor to the dredge.
  • 1 teaspoon paprika Provides color and mild flavor.
  • Salt and pepper To taste.
  • 1 cup honey For the hot honey sauce.
  • 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes To add heat to the honey.
  • Oil for frying Oil for frying Use a high smoke point oil.
For the Biscuits
  • 4 pieces biscuits Store-bought or homemade.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Soak the chicken breasts in buttermilk for at least 30 minutes.
  2. In a bowl, mix together flour, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper for the dredge.
Cooking
  1. Heat about an inch of oil in a large skillet over medium heat until shimmering.
  2. Remove the chicken from the buttermilk, letting excess drip off, and dredge each piece in the flour mixture.
  3. Fry the coated chicken in the hot oil for 6-8 minutes on each side until golden brown and cooked through.
  4. While the chicken is frying, mix honey and red pepper flakes in a small saucepan over low heat until warm and combined.
Assembly
  1. Slice the biscuits in half, place a piece of fried chicken on the bottom half, drizzle with hot honey, and top with the other half.

Notes

Serve with a green salad or coleslaw and a chilled drink. Adjust red pepper flakes to taste.
