Preparation
- Soak the chicken breasts in buttermilk for at least 30 minutes.
- In a bowl, mix together flour, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper for the dredge.
Cooking
- Heat about an inch of oil in a large skillet over medium heat until shimmering.
- Remove the chicken from the buttermilk, letting excess drip off, and dredge each piece in the flour mixture.
- Fry the coated chicken in the hot oil for 6-8 minutes on each side until golden brown and cooked through.
- While the chicken is frying, mix honey and red pepper flakes in a small saucepan over low heat until warm and combined.
Assembly
- Slice the biscuits in half, place a piece of fried chicken on the bottom half, drizzle with hot honey, and top with the other half.
Notes
Serve with a green salad or coleslaw and a chilled drink. Adjust red pepper flakes to taste.
