Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a medium saucepan, combine water and butter over medium heat. Bring to a boil.
- Add flour and stir vigorously until a dough forms. Remove from heat and let cool for a few minutes.
- Incorporate the eggs into the dough, one by one, mixing well after each addition until smooth and glossy.
- Gently fold in the shredded cheese and chosen herbs. Season with salt and pepper.
- Use a spoon or piping bag to form small mounds of dough on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, leaving enough space between each puff.
Baking
- Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for 20 to 25 minutes, or until they are golden brown and puffed up.
- Remove from the oven, cool for a few minutes, and enjoy warm.
Notes
These puffs can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 days. To reheat, warm in the oven at 350°F (175°C) for about 10 minutes. For freezing, keep in a single layer and store in a freezer-safe bag for up to a month.
