- In a large bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, heavy cream, sugar, vanilla, and cinnamon.
- Dip each Hawaiian roll half into the custard mixture, coating both sides well.
- Heat a skillet or griddle over medium heat and add butter or oil.
- Cook each roll 2–3 minutes per side, until golden brown and cooked through.
- Serve warm with maple syrup, powdered sugar, or fresh fruit.
Notes
For a richer flavor, soak the rolls in the custard for 1–2 minutes before cooking.
Can be baked in a 9x13-inch dish for a French toast casserole version.
Leftovers can be stored in the fridge and reheated in a skillet or toaster oven.
