  • 1 medium head green cabbage, thinly sliced
  • 2 tablespoons sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, minced Adjust to taste if you prefer more spice.
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce or tamari Use tamari for gluten-free option.
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds, toasted
  • 1 teaspoon honey or maple syrup Maple syrup for vegan option.

  • 2 green onions, chopped

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Start by removing the outer leaves of the cabbage, and then slice it thinly.
  2. In a large skillet or wok, heat the sesame oil over medium-high heat.
  3. Toss in the minced ginger and stir-fry for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  4. Add the sliced cabbage to the skillet and stir-fry for 3-5 minutes until it begins to soften but retains its crunch.
  5. Pour in the soy sauce, rice vinegar, honey, salt, and pepper, then toss everything together and cook for another minute.
  6. Remove from heat and stir in the toasted sesame seeds and chopped green onions.
  7. Serve warm as a side dish or on its own.

Notes

Top Tips: Feel free to add other vegetables, adjust ginger to your taste, and substitute honey with maple syrup. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.
