Ingredients
Method
Preparation
- Start by peeling your bananas and cutting them into slices about 1/2 inch thick.
Making the Batter
- In a large bowl, mix together the flour, sugar, and ground cinnamon.
- In another bowl, whisk together the milk and vanilla extract.
- Gradually combine the wet ingredients with the dry ones until you have a smooth batter.
Heating the Oil
- In a large frying pan, heat about 1/4 inch of oil over medium heat. You can test if it's hot enough by dropping a small bit of batter in; it should sizzle upon contact.
Coating the Bananas
- Dip the banana slices into the batter, ensuring they are well-coated.
Frying
- Carefully place the battered banana slices into the hot oil, a few at a time.
- Fry them for about 2-3 minutes on each side or until they're golden brown.
Draining
- Once fried, remove the bananas from the oil and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain any excess oil.
Serve and Enjoy
- Serve your Fried Cinnamon Bananas warm, optionally drizzled with caramel sauce or topped with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
Notes
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to three days. Reheat in a pan over low heat for best texture.
