  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
Wet Ingredients
  • 0.5 cups unsalted butter, softened Make sure it's at room temperature.
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 3 large eggs Use room temperature.
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup whole milk

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9-inch round cake pan.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, matcha powder, and salt. Set aside.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened butter and sugar together until light and fluffy, about 3-4 minutes.
  4. Add the eggs to the butter mixture, one at a time, ensuring each is fully incorporated before adding the next. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  5. Gradually add the flour mixture to the butter mixture, alternating with the whole milk, beginning and ending with the flour. Mix until just combined.
Baking
  1. Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and smooth the top.
  2. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  3. Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.
