Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and prepare your baking sheets by lining them with parchment paper.
- In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth.
- Beat in the eggs one at a time, ensuring each one is fully incorporated before adding the next.
- In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add this dry mixture to the butter-sugar mixture, stirring until combined.
- Gently fold in the chocolate chips, ensuring they are evenly distributed throughout the dough.
- Using a cookie scoop or tablespoon, drop rounded balls of dough onto the prepared baking sheets, leaving adequate space between each cookie.
Baking
- Place your cookies in the preheated oven and bake for 9-12 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and the centers are just set.
- Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
For best results, chill the dough for 30 minutes before baking to improve cookie structure. Store cookies in an airtight container for up to a week or freeze for longer storage.
