Preparation
- Rinse the millet thoroughly under cold water in a fine-mesh sieve to remove any debris and bitterness.
- In a medium saucepan, combine the rinsed millet, milk, maple syrup, vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt. Stir well.
Cooking
- Place the saucepan on medium-high heat and bring the mixture to a gentle boil.
- Once boiling, reduce the heat to low and cover the saucepan. Let it simmer for about 20-25 minutes, or until the millet is tender and the porridge has thickened to your liking. Stir occasionally to prevent sticking.
- Remove from heat and let it sit for a couple of minutes.
Serving
- Serve warm, topped with fresh berries, sliced bananas, or your favorite toppings.
Notes
Store any remaining porridge in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3-4 days. When reheating, add a splash of milk to loosen consistency. Can freeze portions for later use.
