Main Ingredients
  • 2 lbs ground beef
  • 1 cup bread crumbs
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped onion
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 units eggs
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
Glaze Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup brown sugar for the glaze
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, bread crumbs, chopped onion, milk, eggs, salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Mix well until all ingredients are combined.
  3. Shape the mixture into a loaf shape and place it in a baking dish or loaf pan.
  4. In a separate bowl, mix together the ketchup, brown sugar, and Worcestershire sauce. Spread this glaze evenly over the meatloaf.
  5. Bake in the preheated oven for 60-70 minutes or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (70°C) using a meat thermometer.
  6. Once cooked, let the meatloaf rest for 10 minutes before slicing and serving. Enjoy!

Notes

Great to serve with creamy mashed potatoes, roasted vegetables, or cornbread. Sweet tea or lemonade pair well for a Southern-inspired dinner. Consider ingredient substitutions like crushed crackers or rolled oats if breadcrumbs are scarce.
