Preparation
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef until fully cooked, breaking it apart with a spatula. Drain excess fat if needed.
- Add the chopped onion and minced garlic to the skillet. Sauté until the onion is translucent, about 5 minutes.
- Stir in the chopped cabbage, diced tomatoes (with juices), Worcestershire sauce, paprika, salt, and pepper. Cook until the cabbage is tender, approximately 10 minutes.
- Transfer the beef and cabbage mixture to a greased baking dish. If using cheese, sprinkle it on top.
- Cover with foil and bake for 30 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly, or until the dish is heated through.
- Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
Notes
For ingredient swaps, consider using turkey or chicken for a leaner version. Add spices or hot sauce for extra flavor. Ensure cabbage is evenly chopped for perfect cooking. Store leftovers in an airtight container for 3-4 days in the fridge or freeze for up to 3 months.
