  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 1 cup milk (any type) almond, whole, oat, etc.
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar adjust to your taste
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • a pinch salt

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a medium-sized bowl or jar, combine the rolled oats, brown sugar, milk, vanilla extract, and salt. Mix well until everything is evenly distributed.
  2. Transfer the mixture to a mason jar or an airtight container. Seal it tightly and place it in the refrigerator overnight (or for at least 4 hours).
  3. When ready to enjoy, take them out of the fridge and give them a good stir. Top with your favorite fruits, nuts, or a sprinkle of more brown sugar, if desired.
  4. Grab a spoon and dig in! You can eat them straight from the jar or transfer them to a bowl for a more leisurely breakfast.

Notes

Brown Sugar Overnight Oats can be stored in the fridge for up to 4 days in an airtight container. If reheating, add a splash of milk and warm in the microwave for about 1 minute. For freezing, leave out fresh toppings and add them after thawing.
