Ingredients
  

Crust
  • 2 cups crushed pretzels
  • ¾ cup melted butter
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
Filling
  • 1 package (8 ounces) cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar (divided) divided into two portions
  • 1 cup whipped topping (like Cool Whip)
Topping
  • 2 cups fresh blackberries
  • 1 cup blackberry preserves

Method
 

Preparation of Crust
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the crushed pretzels, melted butter, and ¼ cup of granulated sugar. Stir until well mixed.
  3. Press the pretzel mixture into the bottom of a 9×13-inch baking pan, spreading it out to form an even layer.
  4. Bake for 10 minutes until golden, then let it cool.
Making the Filling
  1. In another bowl, beat the softened cream cheese with the remaining granulated sugar until creamy and smooth.
  2. Gently fold in the whipped topping until combined and light.
Assembling the Dessert
  1. Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly over the cooled pretzel layer.
  2. In a small saucepan over medium heat, warm the blackberry preserves until they are a bit runny.
  3. Pour the warm preserves over the cream cheese layer, then scatter fresh blackberries on top.
Chilling
  1. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or until set.

Notes

Serve with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a drizzle of chocolate syrup. Fresh blackberries are preferred, but frozen can be used if thawed properly.
