A fresh, zesty salsa made with ripe tomatoes, onions, jalapeños, lime, and cilantro. Perfect for dipping tortilla chips, topping tacos, or adding flavor to any Mexican-inspired meal.

Ingredients

  • 6 ripe Roma tomatoes chopped
  • ½ medium onion chopped
  • 2 jalapeños seeded (leave seeds for more heat)
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • ½ cup fresh cilantro chopped
  • 2 tbsp lime juice about 1 lime
  • 1 tsp salt or to taste
  • ½ tsp ground cumin optional

Equipment

  • Food processor or blender
  • Cutting board and knife

Method

  1. Add tomatoes, onion, jalapeños, garlic, cilantro, lime juice, salt, and cumin (if using) to a food processor or blender.
  2. Pulse until desired consistency is reached—chunky or smooth.
  3. Taste and adjust seasoning with more salt or lime juice if needed.
  4. Transfer to a bowl and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to let flavors meld.
  5. Serve chilled with chips or as a topping for your favorite dishes.

Notes

For smoky flavor, roast tomatoes, onions, and jalapeños before blending.
Keeps well in the fridge for up to 5 days.
Add a mango or peach for a sweet twist.
