Ingredients
  

Main Ingredients
  • 1 pound beef sirloin, sliced into thin strips
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1 large onion, sliced
  • 2 bell peppers (any color), sliced
  • 3 cloves of garlic, minced
  • ¼ cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons oyster sauce (or vegetarian substitute)
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 tablespoon water

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a bowl, combine sliced beef, soy sauce, and a pinch of black pepper. Set aside for at least 10 minutes.
  2. In a small bowl, mix together oyster sauce, cornstarch, and water. This will serve as your zesty sauce.
Cooking
  1. In a large skillet, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat.
  2. Add sliced onions, bell peppers, and minced garlic to the skillet. Stir-fry for 3-4 minutes until the veggies are tender yet crisp.
  3. Push the veggies to one side of the pan; add marinated beef to the other side and cook for about 5-7 minutes until browned and cooked through.
  4. Pour the sauce over the beef and veggies, mixing well to incorporate everything. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes.
  5. Remove from heat, taste, and adjust seasoning if necessary. Serve hot over rice or noodles.

Notes

Leftovers are great for a quick lunch! Store uneaten Best Ever Pepper Steak in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. For freezing, portion it into freezer-safe bags for up to 3 months. To reheat, place your pepper steak in a skillet with a splash of water or broth to keep it moist, or microwave until heated through.
