Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 2 large ripe bananas, sliced Use ripe bananas for better sweetness.
  • 1 box (5.1 oz) vanilla pudding mix
  • 2 cups cold milk
  • 1 container (8 oz) whipped topping, thawed Fold gently into pudding.
  • 1 box (11 oz) vanilla wafers For layering.
Optional Garnish
  • as needed additional bananas and wafers for garnish Add just before serving to prevent browning.

Method

Preparation
  1. In a bowl, whisk together the vanilla pudding mix and cold milk. Make sure no lumps remain, and let it stand for about 5 minutes until it thickens.
  2. Once thickened, fold in the whipped topping gently with a spatula until well combined for a creamy texture.
Layering
  1. In a large glass dish or individual serving cups, start with a layer of vanilla wafers at the bottom.
  2. Next, add a layer of banana slices over the wafers.
  3. Spoon a generous portion of the pudding mixture over the bananas.
  4. Repeat the layering process until all your ingredients are used, finishing with the pudding on top.
Chill
  1. Cover the dish with plastic wrap and let it chill in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours (or longer) so the flavors meld beautifully.
Serve
  1. Before serving, add more banana slices and crushed vanilla wafers on top for decoration. Dig in and enjoy the creamy bliss!

Notes

For best results, layer the bananas just before serving to prevent browning. This dessert shines when chilled; the flavors deepen and the texture firms up beautifully.
