Baked Garlic Butter Cajun Cod

A quick and flavorful seafood dish where tender cod fillets are baked in a rich garlic butter sauce with Cajun spices. Perfect for a weeknight dinner that tastes gourmet.

Ingredients
  

  • 4 cod fillets about 6 oz each
  • 3 tbsp unsalted butter melted
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 2 tsp Cajun seasoning
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • ½ tsp onion powder
  • ½ tsp salt adjust to taste
  • ¼ tsp black pepper
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley chopped (for garnish)
  • Lemon wedges for serving

Equipment

  • Baking dish
  • Small mixing bowl
  • Whisk or fork
  • Measuring spoons
  • Pastry brush (optional)

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Lightly grease a baking dish.
  2. Pat cod fillets dry with paper towels and place them in the dish.
  3. In a small bowl, whisk together melted butter, garlic, Cajun seasoning, paprika, onion powder, salt, pepper, and lemon juice.
  4. Brush or spoon the mixture evenly over the cod fillets.
  5. Bake for 12–15 minutes, or until fish flakes easily with a fork.
  6. Garnish with parsley and serve with lemon wedges.

Notes

Pair with rice, roasted vegetables, or mashed potatoes for a full meal.
This recipe also works well with tilapia, haddock, or halibut.
For extra spice, add a pinch of cayenne pepper to the butter mixture.
